Black History Program and
"Red & Black Dress Affair"

Saturday, February 23, 2019 ~ 6:00 - 8:00p.m.

A celebration of African American history!
About The Red & Black Dress Affair: The idea is based on the famous "Diner en Blanc" outdoor events which began in France over 20 years ago. It has been described as a "chic or elegant picnic", a je ne sais quoi event.

However, instead of a secret location and exclusive guest list, we are opening our doors (and hearts) to you and your family/friends right here at Holy Trinity!

Here's How it Works: Holy Trinity will provide Live entertainment, beverages, and the tableware. You provide the cuisine, family and friends.

Each Table Host will invite their family and friends, and bring enough food for their table to share!
NOTE: Each Table Host must RSVP for their group.

The FAQs:
Is there a cost to attend? There is no cost to attend this event.

What is a Table Host?
A Table Host is the person in charge of inviting guests (family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.) to dine at their table. Each Host should bring enough food for their own guests. (or you may also choose to have your guests each bring a dish).

How much food should I have? Each Host should have at least enough food for the guests that they have invited. You are welcome to bring a little more to share if you choose. (Ex. if you invite 3 guests, bring enough food for 3 - 4 people).

What types of food do you suggest? We suggest a main course and a dessert (appetizers are optional).  Casseroles, soups, salads, and pasta dishes are good choices. We encourage you to be creative. Also, we suggest that you bring items best served at room temperature, as we have no way to warm or re-heat food. PLEASE NOTE: Should you decide not to prepare your own food, you are welcome to order food from a restaurant. However, if you order from a restaurant, we ask that you pick up your order and bring it with you. Having food delivered will likely be a disruption to your guests, especially if it does not arrive on time or the order is incorrect.

Am I allowed to bring items other than food? Yes! Although Holy Trinity will provide the beverages, you may certainly bring your favorite bottle of beer or wine (only). No other alcoholic beverages are allowed.  You may also bring items such as wine glasses, round tablecloths, candles, flowers or roses, and a centerpiece for your table, if you choose. The table "belongs" to the host and we encourage you to create a memorable experience for your guests.  (When bringing additional items, we ask that you please keep the RED & BLACK  theme in mind).

What should I wear? We ask that each person wear RED & BLACK (or mostly red & black in keeping with the event's theme. The event is upscale and we ask that you  dress accordingly (no jeans, t-shirts, tennis shoes please).

Are children allowed to attend? YES! You may invite any guests of your choice, regardless of age.

If I do not want to host a table, may I still attend? Absolutely! Just bring your favorite meal, and you will be seated at a table with plenty of loving and friendly people.
